In the last tutorial, you made your first machine and a generator. Since you can now macerate ores to get double output, you are ready to enter a world of magic! We'll start out with the basic wizardry items that are needed all throughout the mod.
By mixing materials together, you can get mystical dusts that repair tools and armour! The green kind repairs wood and stone tools, along with Leather and Chain armours. Light blue repairs Iron and Gem items. The Dark blue repairs only Diamond grade tools and armor. These crafting recipes are shapeless.Green:
Next, you can make various tiers of "Divining Rods". These will show an EMC value within the scanned area, each tier having better ranges. You can easily find diamonds by scanning for an EMC of 8192. Tungsten will appear as well over 16,000. Level 1:
These rods can help greatly with mining. However, rushing into divining rods is not always the best idea. It consumes 8 of every dust to get to the highest tier, making repairs a bit more difficult or more costly.
The Philosopher's Stone and Uses
If you had a chance to enter the Nether yet for glowstone, mixing 4 glowstone, 4 redstone, and 1 diamond together will make a Philosopher's Stone, which can turn iron into gold, gold into diamonds, and coal into various higher tier fuels.
The Philosopher's Stone can transmute blocks into other blocks by right clicking (Cobble <-> Stone, Dirt <-> Sand, Gravel <-> Sandstone are the most common) and are useful for several crafting recipes. The Stone is kept after crafting.
Higher level fuels are used in higher tiered items and equipment in Tekkit, so you don't really need them earlier on. Crafting Recipe is shapeless. The items and Stone can go in any arrangement.
While this may seem good for having too much iron/gold, you need iron a LOT in other mods. In other words, try not to use this method of diamonds. Crafting Recipe is shapeless. The items and Stone can go in any arrangement.
Interdiction Torches and Transmutation tablets will be talked about in a later tutorial. Thanks for reading!
Tell me what you think! Should I continue, or let it die here?
