How do you convert MJ to EU?

  • I need to convert my nuclear reactor's output to MJ (energy links) then back to EU after I use the teleport pipe to transport the power.  Is this possible?  I really don't want to have to build long distance transport lines to get my power 3000+ blocks away. (Dimensional Anchor under powerplant with an infinite supply of ice being pumped in)

      I just now saw that (well, just after posting) but the issue is, I still can't teleport power because every time I right click my teleport pipes, my client crashes.  :/

    • Take your Rending Gale off your hotbar and it should work.

    • You want the LV/MV/HV Pneumatic Generators. The pneumatic generators take in MJ and output EU as a a near 1:1 conversion. As long as the power supply is constant, there won't be any loss of power through the conversion. You can convert EU to MJ by using either the Energy Link from Forestry (Depending on your version of course) or the Electric Engines. Considering the massive amounts of power you'll probably be sending, you'll want the adjustable electric engine since you can set it's output quite high.

    • EU goes into the energy link which will run a quarry for example although many machines don't need an energy link, so idk if you even need to even convert your energy.

      I suggest you do NOT cable from your reactor directly into an energy link because an energy link only outputs around 70 eu/t. You will lose tons of EU/t if you're putting out 2048 EU/t from a reactor, going from an HV transformer directly into an energy link and then trying to output your EU... almost 2k EU/t will be lost unless you store the EU into an mfsu and output to the energy link fromt there.

      even though you have an infinite supply of ice it doesn't mean your reactor will run infinitely unless you create a system to provide your reactor with new cells as well... otherwise you only need 3 hours worth of ice.

      Just remember most machines will run directly from an MFSU.

      I wasn't talking about running machines.  I want to teleport power more than 3000 blocks.

      I was talking about teleporting power long distances.  Not powering machines with it, I know how to do that bit.  I wish there was a teleport cable...  I can't teleport high output power, if an energy link only transfers 70 EU/s, then I can only send someone 70 EU/s? :/

    • you could send it off just by creating multiple energy links, but you would be better off investing your resources into solar panels to set up local power spots. They can easily be transferred.

      Set all of your teleport pipes to the same frequency as the receiving end. 3 energy links would theoreticallly give you 210 EU/t. Either way EU will be lost unless you set up multiple energy links on the receiving end, so you can actually output the same amoutn of EU/t. You might even be able to send the energy to an MFSU with glass fibre cable once you get it to your destination. Never tried it though... The entire idea just seems like a mass amount of energy links would be needed for hardly any EU/t.

      Somebody mentioned taking an item off your hotbar if you crash. You could also double check to make sure there isn't any water proof pipes in your system... wood from the energy link directly into the teleport pipe, but not sure how much energy redstone engines would output. You might need another energy link to power your wooden pipe as well... No idea, but combustion, steam and redstone engines are garbage compared to an energy link. a lot less buggy as well...

    • you can use transformers industrial craft to reduce the energy and stores it in some mfsu cable using fiberglass to reduce energy loss, then make a trail up to the place you want to take it with energy and light stands with mfe or mfsu and load the carts use an energy loader (mod railcraft)
