The different shapes that the luminator employs.

are thin machines that emit light upon being supplied with EU power. When placed, they change shape depending on whether the surface they are placed on is on the horizontal or vertical plane. However, attaching a luminator to a cable will result in the luminator looking as if it had been placed on the horizontal plane, regardless of how it actually is.

Creating light takes energy (0.25 EU/t). They can also be powered by right clicking them while holding an RE Battery or Energy Crystal but NOT a Lapotron Crystal. This will result in energy being drained from the source, and the container returned with the remaining energy stored. Luminators can store up to 10,000 EU, which will last for 2 Minecraft days. They cannot be turned on or off with a redstone current.

When hostile mobs comes in physical contact with a luminator, they will catch fire. However, attacking Wolves will not burn. Placing luminators as floor tiles may offer good protection against mobs, in addition to providing light.

Although it is impossible to place luminators underwater, flowing water will not destroy the luminators, making them useful in airlocks.

Luminators can only take input energy from the "bottom" side, and will take an input of up to 32 EU/t before exploding.
