Books are vanilla items crafted from paper and are used in recipes for several useful items, such as Alchemical Tomes and Enchantment Tables. Books and Paper can be found in Chests discovered in strongholds. Books can also be obtained from breaking a bookshelf, (commonly found in Villages) with anything (unless the tool is enchanted with Silk Touch).
