It requires 1EU/t, thus being able to run with only one Solar Panel. A suggested powering option would be to use 2 Solar Panels and a BatBox, as solar power will not work at night and the device does not possess internal energy storage. It accepts 32EU/t before exploding. Another powering option includes the use of four Water Mills, as the EU they provide is constant (unaffected by night or rain), and are more cost effective than two Solar Panels and a BatBox, although they will take up more room (4 3x3 cubes of water plus cabling and BatBox vs. two 1-block solar panels and a batbox next to the crop-matron).
Weed-EX, Fertilizer, and Hydration Cells are either added manually by right-clicking on the Crop-Matron, or automatically through Buildcraft pipes or Pneumatic Tubes (Top: Hydration Cells, Bottom: Weed-EX; Sides: Fertilizer). Though, be warned: As of Tekkit 3.1.2, any pipes or tubes do not follow the Crop-Matron's item layout, allowing you to pump any item into any slot. A Crop-Matron will hold three stacks of Fertilizer, three Hydration Cells, and three cans of Weed-Ex. The Crop-Matron uses its supplies quickly, so proper timing is required to keep materials stocked. Otherwise the crops it is tending could be contaminated by weeds.
